I wanted to invite you to meditate on the Bible verses I'll be writing about in this book. Meditating can be just simply think about a subject and, over time, decide if it is something of value to you or not. However I would like you to consider meditation in this way.

The type of meditating I'm talking about is comparable to eating. Let's use eating an apple as an example.

Let's say you're looking at an apple sitting in your hand. Looking at the apple can be compared to reading the words of the particular scripture I have written out in whatever verse you are reading.

Taking a bite out of the apple can be the same as allowing the words you have read into your mind. The action of chewing the apple is the same as thinking about the verse you are considering. The action of chewing can be considering its context or even just “mulling it over” in your mind.

Once you have finished chewing it and it is palatable, (believable or acceptable) you swallow it. When you swallow it you allow it within by agreeing it is acceptable.

Then the process of being fed happens. With the apple, the nutrients will feed your body and become part of you. The same is true with the words you considered; they become part of your mind and spirit and now, also part of your strength. Just as the apple has.

All that is needed for this to happen is an open mind. Having an open mind does not mean you have to give up anything you believe in, just be willing to consider what is being

proposed. If your spirit recognizes them as truth, it will let you know. If you don't, leave it behind. Simple.

Any time I'm introduced to a new truth through books or sermons, my spirit always acknowledges it as such. If it's something that I'm not prepared for, my spirit simply says to put it aside for now. This way I give up nothing and I lose nothing. This process has worked for me for many years and I hope it will do the same for you. So let's take a look at some powerful Bible verses that I'd like to share with you.

I will be quoting scripture from mostly the Amplified Bible because this is the version that speaks to me the most. I probably have every other version of the Bible however the amplified has become the most powerful one for me. There is a version that has the KJV and Amp Bible together which many people have said work very well together. You can see that also in the KJV/Amplified Parallel Bible

So let's get started.

God will educate you Romans 16:19

"I would have you well-versed and wise as to what is good and innocent and guileless as to what is evil."

The path that God has set me on was one of learning and training. I was led to books that revealed the Truth behind certain Scriptures and even some spiritual sayings. Sometimes I would hear a pastor of a church say something that bothered me so I would ask God about it. Every time I asked, the answer was given.

Once a great evil was committed in my city, something so terrible the whole city was affected for a long time. When the people responsible were caught, the anger towards those who were charged was evident everywhere. But God educated me to understand that these people were God's kids too. That he loved them as much as he loves the good people in our city and that the depth of His love for them was not affected by their terrible actions.

That powerful teaching took some time to become part of me. Now I am more effective as a carrier of his message, not a person who delivers it.

This kind of leads into the next verse which is:

God will allow all things to work out for good
for those that love him
Romans 8:28

"We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [his] design and purpose."

I think there is something I need to explain at this point and actually it is critical. In order to have God's promises you have to claim them. You actually have to call God on his promise. Or else you don't get it. Much like the Christmas present under the tree that has your name on it. Be like that child that grabs that present and says" this is mine"!

At times when something happened that I considered to be a terrible thing I would lean on this promise. I would say to Him, "You've got your work cut out for you on this one Dad. But I'm looking forward to see how you're going to make something good come out of this".

I'll give you an example. I was given a part-time job at a factory three years after I had applied there. It was a very difficult place to get employment because it paid very well. After 11 shifts on that job I was given a full-time position. The reason why I was given the full-time position isn't really relevant however what happened afterwards was.

I was approached by a union steward who was angry and glared at me as he said "you don't know how lucky you are to have been given a full-time position here. I have guys who've been here for four years trying to get on full-time, and you get it after 11 shifts!"

I look him in the eye and said "I've got a friend upstairs, he got me in". He just turned around in a huff and left. He thought I meant I had a friend in management, but the friend in management I had was a lot further up!
A couple years later this union steward pulled a fast one on me which caused me to lose this job. It was big money during those days and when it happened I had no money at all. So I claimed that Promise in this scripture and let it go.

As a result of my losing that job I moved 1000 miles away, and met a wonderful lady who gave me a son. Today, that child is the most amazing blessing I am aware of in this life. The last 21 years have been a journey of love, frustration and great learning. This child has grown up to be an amazing person. He has a great heart, loves to challenge me [and his mother] and is enthusiastic about learning. Don't get me wrong, he's not perfect. He has his problems, mostly by the limitations he has allowed into his mind but I'm confident he will release himself from them eventually. I did the same thing at his age.

One day, when he was around four or five years old he said to me: "Dad I love you, but I love God more". At this point I'll be honest, I was envious. But then he looked at me and said "I love God more because he gave you to me". The depth of that statement hit me deep.

So if that person had not conspired in the way he did, causing me to lose my job, I would not have this wonderful person in my life. The promise of that scripture came true for me. It happens every time I claim it, and I've claimed it a lot.

God loves you as much as he loves Jesus
John 17:23

"I in them and you in me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that you sent me and that you have love them [even] as you have loved me."

I think this was at first Scripture that literally shocked me. The idea that God the Father could love me as much as His Son Jesus was beyond my comprehension. I felt my insides jump when I realized what this scripture was saying to me. I also began to better understand God's love for me. It has nothing to do with my abilities or the things that I do while I'm in this reality. It is the simple fact that I am one of God's kids. There's nothing that I have to do [or can do] to earn that love. I've had it from the beginning and all through the things that I've done, even when I'm out of this will.

This is the true self-esteem builder. You are loved by the Creator of all things, in a way we won't truly understand until we stand before him. So use this as your own self-esteem. The One that made all things is intensely interested in you and loves you deeply. There is nothing you can do that will weaken this love because it is not based on your abilities or efforts. It is simply because you are his child.

This was a life-changing experience for me. Allow yourself some time to meditate on these words. They are life changers!

My ways are not your ways
Isaiah 55:8
